2- PARIS
Hi everyone! Today's post is about The City of Love, The City of Lights (La ville lumière): Paris! It's the second city I'd like to visit the most and the one I'm gonna visit sooner. "Why? Do you have a trip planned?" You might ask yourself. And my answer is yes! I'm going on a trip to France next week with my high school and we'll make a one-day visit to Paris. Enjoy the post!
1- General information
Paris, located in the north-centre of France, is the capital and largest city of the country. Moreover, with 2.2 million inahbitants in the urban area, it's the most populous city in the country. Taken into account the metropolitan area too, the city's population reaches to 12 million people, which is almost the 20% of France's population.
Founded over 2,000 years ago, Paris has been one of Europe's major centres of finance, commerce, fashion, arts and science since the 17th century.
2- Landmarks
Paris is a cultural city with many historic monuments and important landmarks as the following:
The icon of the city is undoubtedly the Eiffel Tower, a world-famous methalic tower built for the 1889 Paris International Exhibition. Located, next to the River Seine, it's a great place to have a walk either walking or on a tourist boat.
Another representative building of the city is Notre Dame's Cathedral, an arquitectural masterpiece and one of the most beautiful representations of the Gothic style in Europe.
The Arc de Triomphe, built in 1806 in honor of the French Imperial Army of Napoleón is one of the most visited places in the city.
Regarding museums, there are loads of important ones in the city, but the most outstanding one is the Louvre Museum
3- People
About one out of five Paris' residents were born out of France. What does that mean? That means Paris is a great multicultural city in which hundreds of different languages are spoken daily and is a great place to male Friends from all over the world. Nevertheless, that also has a major drawback: an important percentage of the population are French with Arabic antecessors and many terrorists have come out of that minority. However, we have to be very respectuous towards other people because that doesn't mean at all Arabic or Muslims are terrorists.
4- Food
Being the capital city of the most famous country all over the world in terms of cuisine, Paris offers a wide variety of the most typical French foods.
Croque Monsieur might not seem different to an ordinary ham and cheese sandwich, but if it's cooked properly, on the oven or on the frying pan and grilled, it will be much more tastier.
Are you a crepe lover? Then Paris is definitely your place. No matter whether you want a savoury or a sweet crepe, or if you wanna buy it on a food stall and eat it on your way or eat it calmly at a Smart elegant, Paris'll offer you all those possibilities and many others.

5- Films and TV Series
The City of Love has been the location of lots of films, mainly romantic ones. One of the most remarkable ones is Midnight in Paris. Even so, there are lots of other famous titles such as Before sunset, French Kiss and even the cartoons one Ratatouille. Regarding Tv series, they're French productions which are little known out of the country. A couple of them are Le Bureau and Les Mystères de l'amour.
