5- VANCOUVER

Hy everyone! How's everything going? Here I'm back with a new post, this time it's about Vancouver, one of the most important citie of the amazing country of Canada.

Would you like to make yourself an idea about the city before reading the post? Watch the following video!

1- General information

Vancouver is a Canadian city located in the west coast, in the region of British Columbia. 630,000 people live in the city, almost 2.5 million including the metropolitan area, which turns it into the third most populous city in the country.
Vancouver is constantly named as one of the top 5 livable cities all over the world. Moreover, it hosts importants events every year. For instance, the2010 Winter Olympics and Paralympics and the annual TED conference since 2014.

2- Landmarks
Rather than hystorical monuments, museums are the main highlights in the ciity. The ones which seem to me the more interesting ones are the following:

Science World is a great place to turn on every family member's mind while discovering the wonders of science in an interactive way.

Vancouver Lookout is a 130-metre high viewpoint located in the main harbour of the city from which visitors'll get the best views of the city.

Vancouver Aquarium is amazingly home to 50,000 differents creatures from all parts of the globe, from the Artic to the Amazon.

3- People
Canada is worlwide known for being multicultural (in 1971 it was the first country to adopt multiculturalism as a policy), and Vancouver isn't lagging behind. Almost 30% os its residents inmigrated from another country (52% of them don't have English as their first language) and there's also a 5% of the population which is Aboriginal. As a result, if you have the chance to visit Vancouver, you must be very respectuous with people which might be quite different from you, but you'll definitely find it as enriching experience.

4- Food
It being a coastal area, the food in this region is based on fish from the area, mainly salmon. Something as simple as a salmon salad will not be anywhere else so delicious.

Finally, to sweeten your palate, you can't miss tremepette, a traditional dessert similar to the American Pancake but with the Canadian maple sirup

5- Films and TV Series
Vancouver is known for having the third largest film production in North America right after Los Angeles and New York, receiving the nickname North Hollywood. Then, it's not surprising at all that there's an endless list of films set in Vancouver. Some of the most reknown ones are Fifty Shades of Grey and Big Eyes. If you want to know 20 other films set in the city click here

When talking about Tv series, there's one which I really enjoy watching which is Love it or List it Vancouver. It's a televisión show about houses with which I dream of my future home. (In Spain it's most evenings on Tv in Divinity Channel and almost everyone has ever watched it).
