Hey guys! I'm back with a new post. It's about one of the cities which has been the location of films, after New York. Let's start!
Would you like to make a 3-minute tour along the city before Reading the post? Then you MUST watch the following video:
1- General information
San Francisco is located in the American State of California, in the west coast of the most powerful country all over the world: the United States of America (USA).
If we take into account the city's population, it's only about 870,000 people. "Wow! Is that true?" You might think. It is because in the USA, most of the citizens live in housing states rather than in the city centre. That's why the city's population including the metropolitan area amounts to 4.65 million inhabitants.
San Francisco was founded in 1776 by the Spanish conquerors, but it didn't become a city until 1850.

2- Landmarks
The city has many outstanding monuments and attractions which will turn even the most demanding visitors' trips into an unforgettable journey.
The most famous one is Golden Gate
Bridge, from which comes the city's most famous nickname: The Golden City.
There's another place in the city which is worth visiting. It's Pier 39, a shopping centre which offers hundreds of activities to its visitors which can vary from a visit to the aquarium, breathtaking views and landscapes to highlights and rides. It's one of the most visited places in the city, which doesn't surprise me at all cause it seems to be an outstanding place to spend some weekends with family or friends.

3- People
Being the second most populated city in America after New York, San Francisco is home to hundreds of different nationalities and races. The biggest race is formed by Latin American people (mainly Mexican). Moreover, there's also a large group of Asian people. So, several languages apart from English are spoken in the city, being Spanish one of the most important and spoken by most Sanfranciscans.
4- Food
4- Food
San Francisco, a worlwide icon for the Golden Gate, is also famous for its restaurants and food trends.
One of the most typical dishes which is now served at almost any restaurant in the city is Joe's Special , a mixture of spinach, onions, mushrooms, beef and eggs with a funny history behind.

Last but not least, something sweet. It's it is a mouth-watering dessert consists of a vainilla ice-cream (there are other varieties these days like chocolate, mint or capuccino) inbetween oatmeal cookies with a chocolate cover.

5- Films and TV Series
As I said before, there are hundreds of films and Tv series set in San Francisco.
With reference to films, there are a couple ones I've watched and enjoyed which are set in San Francisco. One of those is Moneyball starred by Brad Pitt, which is a great example of how using stadistics smartly, modest teams can get the best players who are invisible for bigger teams.
The other one is The Social Network, which depicts Facebook's origin, legal battles between founder Mark Zuckenberg and fellow Harvard classmates, as well several mangement disputes among contributors to the company. This film pictures the difficulties entrepreneurs have to face when starting their business and the importance of believing in yourslf to reach your goals.
There are many other films shot in San Francisco, such as The Joy Luck Club, Dirty Harry, Jobs and Milk. This last one
tells the story of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay person elected for public office in California.
With reference to the Tv series set in the city, one of the most famous and worldwide known is Full House and its 2016 reboot Fuller House. Neverthless, there are other such as Young & Hungry, Looking and Million Dollar Listing San Francisco.
